Reimagine your smile with porcelain veneers
If you’re considering dental veneers, we’re sure you’ll have a lot of questions to ask at your consultation at our Hampstead practice. It is probably also accurate to assume that the majority of these veneers questions will be about your final result, but this can vary greatly from patient to patient.
That’s because your porcelain veneers will be custom made from impressions of your real teeth. Then, when you come to have them fitted, you dentist will then shape and colour the veneers to match your existing teeth. Each patients will receive a custom designed smile that suits their wishes, and suits their gums, lips and face.
There is rarely a standard end result when it comes to cosmetic dentistry, because we always aim to craft the perfect version of your natural smile. Since beauty is in the eye of the beholder, we’ll also need your input to plan exactly what your new teeth will look like.
But, to see the incredible results we have helped our patients achieved with porcelain veneers, see our Veneers Before and After gallery here.

What happens after your veneers have been fitted?
Once your veneers have been fitted, you can go straight back to living, eating and drinking as you normally would. Your dental practitioner will run through how to look after your veneers, and things you can do to make them last longer.
In the majority of cases, all you will need to do is:
- Maintain good oral hygiene,
- Visit your dentist and dental hygienist regularly,
- Avoid trauma to your porcelain veneers whenever possible,
- Both brush and floss your teeth every day, and
- Preferably, only brush your veneers using a soft brush and non-abrasive toothpaste.
If you have Bruxism, your dental consultant may also recommend a specialist night guard to avoid wearing down your porcelain veneers.
Whilst many dental treatments can result in sensitivity for a few days following, sensitive teeth are more likely to improve after your porcelain veneers have been fitted, since you will have a solid seal over the surface of your tooth once more.
You may still be asked to come in for a check up appointment after a few weeks of having your veneers. This is so your dentist can make sure your bite is correct and make any necessary minor adjustments. Your dentist will also talk to you during this appointment to ensure you are happy with the fit and function with your veneer.
